Creating a Chalkboard Table

There is something about chalkboards that makes me so happy. So I recently decided to turn an old coffee table into a chalkboard table for my son's creative chalk endeavors. 

It's so very simple.  The only things you need are an old table, chalkboard paint, and a paint brush.

This particular table didn't require any more prep work than making sure it was clean and dust free.  The chalkboard paint is very thick so I had them shake it for me in the paint department at the home improvement store for a couple minutes.

I ended up putting three coats of paint on the table.  I waited about 15 minutes in between applying the coats of paint and then let it dry overnight before using it for the first time.
